I try to not get too involved with resolutions around the New Year. If you were waiting for an arbitrary day to make life changes, they probably aren't going to stick.
Some nice running in the Southwest while visiting the folks, always nice to be closer to sea level. My lungs are much happier at lower altitude although it takes 2-3 days for the bump.
First run back at the park tomorrow, probably just an easy couple of lower loops to ease back into lower temps and higher elevation.
Received the Colorado Runner Mag in the mail while gone, thinking Cottonwood Classic will be the first true race of the year and then a qualifying time for Bolder Boulder.
Olympic Trials Marathon for the men/women in just under 2 weeks. The men are a crapshoot. Can Galen Rupp and possibly Mo Trafeh make the US team having never run the full distance? Is Ritz healthy? What about Meb? A ton of 2:11 types also could be in the mix....of course no online streaming thanks to NBC. Without the live stream a 2 hour race will be whittled down to a handful of actual minutes showing the start, middle, break and finish while intermixing stories of supposed "interest". I'm interested in the racing, period.
the women, it appears to be Desi, Shalane and TBA. That 3rd spot is the fun battle for about 6-8 women.
Was doing the math when it comes to hitting my goals and realized I probably need to run about 315 days to get there this year, so about 1 day off a week. Today I didn't run so that already puts me behind the 8 ball!
Thanks for reading...
